Ce drapeau reprend deux sens principaux: les couleurs francophones et de la nouvelle-France (bleu et blanc ,mais aussi le drapeau franco-manitobain en bas) et le drapeau écossais(croix de Saint-André blanche et bleue). Cela représente les deux sources de la fondation du Manitoba moderne: les francophones à Saint-Boniface (période de la Nouvelle-France) et fondation de Winnipeg par les Ecossais en 1809.Au centre se trouve le blason au bison, symbole du Manitoba.
This flag has two main meanings: francophone colours and the ones of New France (blue and white, and the ones of Franco-Manitoban flag) and the Scottish flag (blue and white St Andrew's cross). This represents the two sources of modern Manitoba: francophone in saint-Boniface and the foundation of Winnipeg by the Scots in 1809. In the middle, the coat of arms with the bison, symbol of Manitoba.
